Such a fun card to put together. I think I used all my favorites on this one -- tags cut out using my nesties, colored with Copic markers, a button and rhinestones. Like most people, it's been super wild times. With that, I have been in a total slump in regards to card making. As many of you say "I've lost my Mojo!!!!". I still have interest in shopping (lol) but its the making that has somehow gone by the wayside. Last week, I was going over some blogs that I haven't even visited in a while and I saw <a href="http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/">this </a><a href="http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/">challenge </a>over at Mo's Digital Pencil. This one seemed to wake me up. I printed off this Mo image that I just love, and just let it happen. I totally love how this turned out and was running around this morning (when I was supposed to be getting ready for work) trying to finish this card up.<br /><br /><br /><br />What I love about this image is that you can see how comfy and cozy that robe and slippers are - they just look fluffy, so I wanted to add accents that were just as soft and fluffy. As I was scrounging through my stash of flowers I just wasn't finding what I was looking for, but I saw this cornflower blue ribbon velvet that was the color that I was looking for. I grabbed some thread and gathered the edge and created that accent I wanted. It felt wonderful!!!! Finally felt that spark of creativity that I haven't felt in quite some time. Sure didn't want to come to work after that! lol.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOELrSjUcbgmpLn6PQCKMxGY4ydSBKsIvlJd0AuKOwr_E5y41tVaUI-JTnU8CPMZjpRyjAUtropbZso2HNrpXBwoEP_-JVFim2g2wNkP38bwvljzTJu1HTzpVQhuhEL94G_xWcTTyRMqU/s1600/102_3351.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615861874338055698" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOELrSjUcbgmpLn6PQCKMxGY4ydSBKsIvlJd0AuKOwr_E5y41tVaUI-JTnU8CPMZjpRyjAUtropbZso2HNrpXBwoEP_-JVFim2g2wNkP38bwvljzTJu1HTzpVQhuhEL94G_xWcTTyRMqU/s200/102_3351.JPG" border="0" /></a>This accent has the perfect amount of fluff and comfy, cozy that I was looking for. The little white flowers are something I purchased a long, long time ago - I couldn't even tell you who the manufacturer is. Image colored with my beloved Copic markers. Oval is cut with my trusted classic Nesties and the paper is embossed with one of my favorite embossing folders. I miss you, my old friends. I hope to spend much more time with you again soon!<br /><br />JoyPk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-79123747166282706592011-02-13T13:22:00.000-08:002011-02-13T13:45:05.807-08:00Repeat Impressions Sketch F911<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv47xazF-pFxRLKqv4OPZaVX5TUs9h8HFquLyhSAdcAebdFvP4y0JX7RHc_Rq25e-xWJ2gDlgjnPs2bJ59JmgCuBhmViYeRJlY4mWI2oJxdHAFOqqK8zfjAyko34sZ9b2wZ2Z4_k2UhfQ/s1600/102_3314.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5573290294535680258" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv47xazF-pFxRLKqv4OPZaVX5TUs9h8HFquLyhSAdcAebdFvP4y0JX7RHc_Rq25e-xWJ2gDlgjnPs2bJ59JmgCuBhmViYeRJlY4mWI2oJxdHAFOqqK8zfjAyko34sZ9b2wZ2Z4_k2UhfQ/s400/102_3314.JPG" /></a> At card club this week, <a href="http://karenskreativekards.blogspot.com/2011/02/repeat-impressions-rock-star.html">Karen</a> announced that she just been selected for the design team for Repeat Impressions. Way to go Karen!!!! I have been in such a slump lately, I haven't even been getting cards made for club, but after seeing this weeks sketch challenge over at <a href="http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/">Repeat Impressions</a>, I decided to give it a try. This is my entry - I colored this Whipper Snapper kiddo quite some time ago and just never found the right spot for him. After seeing this sketch, it all seemed to come together. <br /><br />With the beautiful weather we are having today and finishing this card, I feel like I'm starting to come out of winter hybernation. <br /><br />Maybe I'll skip my homework tonight and see if I'm inspired enough to make another card. <br /><br />Have a great week! Research and prevention is a must. For that reason we decided to make some paper crafts to sell, with all proceeds going to breast cancer research. I had so much fun working these projects. PK, Filly and I got together to work on them, bounce ideas off each other, and had a whole lot fun together. They are such fun ladies. I always leave with a stomach ache from all the laughing we do. The fact that we were making everything for such a good cause, made it all even more special. <br /><br />These are the treats I took to my workplace and had for sale in the office breakroom. The 1st photo is the whole spread of merchandise. In the 2nd photo you can see some gift card holders. These are made using instructions from Kristina Werner on the 2 Peas web site. The last photo is of some purses I made using the Top Note Purse instructions over at Becky Roberts blog, Inking Idaho. <br /><br />The response was wonderful!!! Everyone was soooo generous and the words of support for what we had done was so uplifting. Over $150 was raised for breast cancer research. <br /><br />Thanks for all your help PK and Filly! Maybe PK will some photos from her sale?<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBtHty89_meq6cKh81lkmlGfOcBhTbVZMWS0A40z_TE3S2KqnQFupF72nhEpW453DYABVFWBEETzklYxx-oXk0ekmgjiYEnnC8MMe1oULgW01yl8DYRDF-yKyTN4EliHushesY1kMt5FI/s1600/102_3292.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 296px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5534351583590339426" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBtHty89_meq6cKh81lkmlGfOcBhTbVZMWS0A40z_TE3S2KqnQFupF72nhEpW453DYABVFWBEETzklYxx-oXk0ekmgjiYEnnC8MMe1oULgW01yl8DYRDF-yKyTN4EliHushesY1kMt5FI/s400/102_3292.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-64431426033544632732010-08-29T16:56:00.000-07:002010-08-29T17:10:22.943-07:00Karen's Doodle's Challenge #25 - Polka Dots<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfKopsZVDM_8deu0T9tGdoW3kwkSETNU080DB4pRdeJCRxTUxpmLSaA2HPWOM9yBP5q79z_Al03wpp1qSIBAmUU6M-AdLb6QVHgPVOl-hVU28e6jgapYPyVtYddI9IEjiUYWlQ2LYjvaU/s1600/102_3288.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 335px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5510985493103355698" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfKopsZVDM_8deu0T9tGdoW3kwkSETNU080DB4pRdeJCRxTUxpmLSaA2HPWOM9yBP5q79z_Al03wpp1qSIBAmUU6M-AdLb6QVHgPVOl-hVU28e6jgapYPyVtYddI9IEjiUYWlQ2LYjvaU/s400/102_3288.JPG" /></a> I love the digital stamps over at Karen's Doodles and this week she had a <a href="http://karensdoodleschallengeblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/karens-doodles-challenge-25-polka-dots.html">challenge</a> that was a lot of fun - using polka dots. Sheesh, just too long. <br /><br />Well, its been a fun and wild summer. I finally have a couple of months off before I go back to school. I have a to-do list a mile long, of things I want to get caught up before I go back. <br /><br />On the top of my list, was to play along with the Hambo Stamps <a href="http://hogsandsketches.blogspot.com/2010/07/hogs-and-sketches-challenge-9.html">Hogs & Sketches Challenge # 9. </a>I this month's sketch was great and I really love this butt cheeks baby stamp of theirs. Too sweet!<br /><br />Over the summer I had gotten a pack of 8 X 8 DCWV baby boy paper that I have been wanting to use. It worked perfectly for this challenge. I wish you could see the sparkle on this patterned paper. I pulled out the copic markers to color my image and the sentiments is something I printed on the computer. The scalloped yellow behind the image and along the sentiment is some glitter paper from DCWV. Gotta have some sparkle and glitter to welcome a new baby!<br /><br />I have some vacation from work in a few weeks so I'm really hoping to make a dent in that list of mine - both cleaning and playing.<br /><br />I'll be back with more to share soon. <br />JoyPk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-84706575235145287232010-06-13T08:56:00.000-07:002010-06-13T09:23:51.249-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczzDnIarrHvv9Ml8hYwPxMrHFZ7QDM4764J5mBbTKkGzrw7fTqYJV5CrTnB5h4cDriHgpmDOAxgTIOlmQnsls9zdoKR451sz2fgjW5N7fzug6cvikoPB1jkWde72PLKsMnBj1liFVQTY/s1600/cards+008.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 267px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 206px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482287882461652082" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhczzDnIarrHvv9Ml8hYwPxMrHFZ7QDM4764J5mBbTKkGzrw7fTqYJV5CrTnB5h4cDriHgpmDOAxgTIOlmQnsls9zdoKR451sz2fgjW5N7fzug6cvikoPB1jkWde72PLKsMnBj1liFVQTY/s400/cards+008.JPG" /></a> BTW - Do you know that today is NOT Father's Day? Haaahaaahaa! Yesterday, I posted and commented about my Dad and about it being Father's Day today. The first thing I told my husband this morning is "Happy Father's Day". He said it wasn't Father's Day. Huh? Are you sure? We finally found an ad that clearly stated that Father's Day is June 20th. I was just laughing at myself. I can't even tell you how many times lately I have had the wrong day, date, time or event. I even tried shooing my husband off to work 6 hours before he needed to leave. He's on a swing shift and it's really been throwing me off. Just tooooooo many things going on. Anyway, I was laughing even harder when I remembered that I had posted on the blog about it being Father's Day as well. <br /><br />Now, on to the important stuff - cards. Our good friend Tammy, from club, did the make 'n take for this gorgeous card a few months back. I just love it. The brown is not only embossed but we also inked it and used clear embossing powder to give it more of a alligator skin look. It's really nice. I had been wanting to learn this technique for a while, but the instructions I had seen were much more complicated. Tammy's version was much more practical and looks even nicer. I have been wanting to try this technique again, and finally had a chance with these graduation cards. <br /><br />I used the exact same dimensions for everything, just changed the image. This stamp is an old, old, old one from Fiskars. It's a nice classic one to have. I've used it a lot.<br /><br />These cards are simple but classy, perfect for graduation.<br /><br />Have a super week!<br />Joy<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhITaqXx6ziGd0XFpA0_cBLc3PdEoz_M9z91WRH5iSx3Tsj-_VbQWkyL1WZfDMJ6FEa7B5YjWfXMGAy3QSxbt30vA5Ms9tddCSFpn2gbpT6JMP5sV3VAtJTtAaUVFTzurZpdEkDFeBv_KY/s1600/cards+009.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 224px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482288046028384898" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhITaqXx6ziGd0XFpA0_cBLc3PdEoz_M9z91WRH5iSx3Tsj-_VbQWkyL1WZfDMJ6FEa7B5YjWfXMGAy3QSxbt30vA5Ms9tddCSFpn2gbpT6JMP5sV3VAtJTtAaUVFTzurZpdEkDFeBv_KY/s400/cards+009.JPG" /></a>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-88598786187659583152010-06-12T16:45:00.000-07:002010-06-12T17:29:46.322-07:00Card Club Challenge Card<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpdbGh4blZweQppGPe8dh43QoGOehussU2dZnkhpoq9EL-IdTNWG2P8CCtwCP_Zq4jumhrsm6OurVGZZEmLjfT6KXmNd_fJJTYKhTMMRkTfiMncjcOWRAeX_UbD6iubO5YyEkg_uItHXY/s1600/cards+006.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482039674706890130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpdbGh4blZweQppGPe8dh43QoGOehussU2dZnkhpoq9EL-IdTNWG2P8CCtwCP_Zq4jumhrsm6OurVGZZEmLjfT6KXmNd_fJJTYKhTMMRkTfiMncjcOWRAeX_UbD6iubO5YyEkg_uItHXY/s400/cards+006.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div>Again, this month, I won't be able to make it to card club, but I still like to participate in the challenge, if I get a chance. Our requirements this month were to make something manly and to distress it. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3Jjl9NzzBxeqLFPCad6Jbis5EIZ-Xz1p_it9LXqnDY9tCzX2CBazLbyQ3QiO7MTO_c7rNKYDkaZEJ1PkW1uEU5RTOU1n7MszYGYb3yhSBJTV49PoX412ZVDuw3G1JgZe-YirZCAOlPGc/s1600/cards+007.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482040416807889810" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3Jjl9NzzBxeqLFPCad6Jbis5EIZ-Xz1p_it9LXqnDY9tCzX2CBazLbyQ3QiO7MTO_c7rNKYDkaZEJ1PkW1uEU5RTOU1n7MszYGYb3yhSBJTV49PoX412ZVDuw3G1JgZe-YirZCAOlPGc/s200/cards+007.JPG" /></a>This was not</div><div>hard to do with the materials we received. In fact, I didn't even read the instructions until after I had completed the card, so these materials were pretty naturally manly. </div><div> </div><div>I love this image - reminds me of the old pick-up truck my Dad drove when I was a kid. It was supposed to be maroon, but it was more of a purple color with domed hub caps. I can remember riding with my Dad to the feedmill in Rosholt - being as proud as could be to be out with my Dad. Sometimes I was even able to talk him into buying an ice cream bar at the grocery store. A pretty cool memory to have. I miss my Dad, especially at Father's Day. </div><div> </div><div>For the accents, I punched two 1 1/2" circles that I crinckled and wrinkled, then pierced around the edge for some faux stitching. I folded one over the top and the other over the bottom and strung them together with the suede ribbon and the eyelets that were in our kit. Of course, I distressed the edges. I made a point of finishing off the inside as well. </div><div> </div><div>Have a great Father's Day! </div><div>Joy</div><div> </div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-66579253856597226312010-06-07T15:53:00.000-07:002010-06-07T16:24:05.736-07:00JustRite Friday Challenge 021 - Masculine Cards<div><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNkx3KxjNE1PhuZtQJvXPMCX2eYHkOBLIH7nl7dEL6o5m_DT_re-PhAwmYSSPU7PGNM955VLfiKx4xIkLD01eSpRYwM7HNt5AzbFQMzOMqT4Z785EyI2jw9fLeFtIrDh5hy7fXBKOFArc/s1600/2010.06.07+004.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 325px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5480169682477589138" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNkx3KxjNE1PhuZtQJvXPMCX2eYHkOBLIH7nl7dEL6o5m_DT_re-PhAwmYSSPU7PGNM955VLfiKx4xIkLD01eSpRYwM7HNt5AzbFQMzOMqT4Z785EyI2jw9fLeFtIrDh5hy7fXBKOFArc/s400/2010.06.07+004.JPG" /></a>JustRite stamps are something new for me. I added a simple little touch to this card though, giving it a cream color lining and a strip of the same striped paper I used on the front. I used my JustRite Domask Monogram Kit. The patterned card stock is from DCWV. I tried a little stitching and photo corners to give it a more manly look. I love the fancy labels Nestabilities over a black satin ribbon. So cute. Reminds me of when I was a young girl and did my first craft which was embroidery. Just sweet. I decided to enter this weeks <a href="http://justritestampers.typepad.com/justrite-inspiration/2010/05/justrite-friday-challenge-020-sponsored-by-copic.html">Just Rite Stampers Challenge #20. </a>So good to have the chance to play over the long weekend. </div><br /><div>This card opens from the right. I used Stampin' Up's screen embossing folder on the pink back ground, one of my new Martha Stewart border punches on the pink strip across the middle, and another narrow embossing folder on the white strip across the middle. Of course, I used my copic markers to color the image - Love Copic markers. I used Ranger Inc. Liquid Pearls for the tops of the pins. I hope it shows up on the close up. I love the extra dimension that gives to an images without overpowering it. </div><div> </div><div>What a fun challenge this was. I have class (sigh!). Each month at club Heidi from <a href="http://stampshoppecreations.blogspot.com/">The Stamp Shoppe </a>gives us a couple assignments. We get a sketch for inspiration and we also get a packet of supplies that we can do whatever we invision. This month I didn't get to the sketch, but I did do some playing with the packet of goodies we received. This month Heidi also asked that we use a summer theme and a nestability (or punch shape) somewhere on our card. Here's what I came up with. I love this ice cream cone image. It's a freebie I came across online. I wish I knew where I found it - I would certainly give the designer credit, but there was nothing on the file. Sorry, I just don't remember. I colored it in with my beloved copic markers. It was a little tricky to figure out how to get that twist cone look (I'm still a newbie with those), but I like the end result. Interesting that a food image would say "summer" to me. hahaha!</div><div>Heidi always gives us such pretty papers - her color choices are always so great. It really makes it easy to create. That daisy ribbon she included makes such a cool accent. The border punch is that huge Martha Stewart lattice works punch, but I only used the outside edge this time. I love the fancy tags nestie. Fun, fun fun. The word "Sweet" is a rub-on from K&Company. Every so often I still drag those out. I have tons, so it feels good to make use of them.</div><div> </div><div>Still bummed that I can't attend club, but glad I got to play along. </div><div> </div><div>Have a super week!</div><div>Joy</div><div> </div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-24600171366215100242010-04-25T15:21:00.000-07:002010-04-25T15:41:38.743-07:00Hambo's Hogs & Sketches Challenge #7I have been hoping, for a few months now, to <div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidqUJ5H1izBVxY3PItC7zjwEMkHCR5nLI-VIiT6ETmYIx5Fy5YgBD7QUYGe56HblaBx5RzWNglRG56aFqnzlsSzCqV7en2cXKnvG2drRjboBntaZI9PuSRMIKzD0JKZBH6T8Dec-2DkME/s1600/100_1558.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 332px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5464204453544512210" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidqUJ5H1izBVxY3PItC7zjwEMkHCR5nLI-VIiT6ETmYIx5Fy5YgBD7QUYGe56HblaBx5RzWNglRG56aFqnzlsSzCqV7en2cXKnvG2drRjboBntaZI9PuSRMIKzD0JKZBH6T8Dec-2DkME/s400/100_1558.JPG" /></a>participate in Hambo's monthly Hogs & Sketches Challenges. So hard to believe the weather could be this gorgeous in the middle of March. The snow is almost all gone - yeahhhhhhh!!!!! I hate snow and cold. This is an old, old $1 stamp from Joann's. One of the first stamps I ever bought.....and never, ever used. I had actually put it in with my rummage sale stuff. When I was trying to think of what to do to celebrate our beautiful spring weather, this old stamp was calling me from my basement. I dug it back out and it worked out perfectly. Butterflies are so popular right now, just a little color with some copic markers and they looked great. I traced over the lettering with a spica glitter pen and cut everything out with my nestabilities. I had been seeing these neat little treat bags on SCS and had to give them a try. I filled them with some Easter/pastel plain M & M's. </div><div> </div><div>Tomorrow, I will give these to the ladies I work with. Living in Central Wisconsin, hunting, nature and wildlife are a big factor and part of the beauty of our area.<br /><div></div><br /><div>Recently, I have been able to come across several different versions of 12 X 12 wild life paper. I cut out the sections of the paper featuring the fish, deer or bear used to make the cards like my previous post, but I ended up with a large section of paper that I really didn't know what to do with. I really hate wasting any scrapbook paper or embellishment. I will save any kind of scrap or crumb, thinking that someday I will use it. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuxsl8nNquz26JKDoREv4un1CopKepImBM-F4zltDMW3DwfIY8w9Xlc1Vv8oH9P6YgE8TbU8Y9t4xgQ3lLP9GZIu7EwTlZumn7Q6491tQgSzxg0cSf2rxNomNxHCait6x6Kg02V5nZaA8/s1600-h/102_3125.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 211px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 180px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5442943152759095778" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuxsl8nNquz26JKDoREv4un1CopKepImBM-F4zltDMW3DwfIY8w9Xlc1Vv8oH9P6YgE8TbU8Y9t4xgQ3lLP9GZIu7EwTlZumn7Q6491tQgSzxg0cSf2rxNomNxHCait6x6Kg02V5nZaA8/s200/102_3125.JPG" /></a></div><br /><div>This Christmas I made great use of many of my "manly" crumbs. My Guys have a taxidermy business. We also have recently eliminated our land line and have gone to only cell phones. We wanted to find a way to thank "My Guys" customers, but also make them aware of our new phone number. We decided the best way to do that was to send out Christmas cards, but include a new business card with their new number and a small notation of the change. Obviously, it only make sense to make Christmas cards appropriate to the clientele - wildlife cards. I pulled out my crumbs - even though the main focal point is gone, they still had a very obvious outdoorsy flavor to them. I inked the edges of some very masculine paper and added a strip of card stock that was embossed with my herringbone folder. I added a deer image that I colored in with my copic. I used my old Basic Grey notch cutter to hold the new business card. </div><div> </div><div>I was thrilled because I made good use of my paper, but I had also created some very manly, outdoor Christmas cards, while still thanking our customers and nofitying them of our phone # change. </div><div> </div><div>It's a beautiful day today, so I'm hoping to get out and enjoy it a little. A very long walk is in order. </div><div> </div><div>Joy</div><br /><div></div></div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-55819812510089630352010-02-24T16:29:00.000-08:002010-02-24T16:51:57.315-08:00House Mouse Challenge # 63 - Multi-Fold Cards<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGMNjPr-LeVGX90wIoiPFq3NYxX2LvSWFN8Sg6nzyHJtk3L4EN1_Z9v4WnMqW3I4b2VZKDcgk2mzjFpSOPCY3Wwt1wkog7GL2olPal_y3oWlq6PwYAQM_WHFBiJ3plEDaBgDADyBwj2bg/s1600-h/102_3121.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 162px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5441974122931888434" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGMNjPr-LeVGX90wIoiPFq3NYxX2LvSWFN8Sg6nzyHJtk3L4EN1_Z9v4WnMqW3I4b2VZKDcgk2mzjFpSOPCY3Wwt1wkog7GL2olPal_y3oWlq6PwYAQM_WHFBiJ3plEDaBgDADyBwj2bg/s320/102_3121.JPG" /></a> I love these darn mice. What I love most about these challenges is it forces you to try something you wouldn't normally do. I doubt that I would have ever made this type of card if it weren't for this challenge. Now that I've made it, I really like it. I definately would make it again. It really looks complex when in reality it was quite simple. The patterned paper I used is from a new DCWV set I recently bought. The stamp was, of course, House Mouse and the markers are Copic. </div><div></div><div>Have a great night!</div><div>Joy</div><div></div><div><br /><br /></div><div></div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-3623224828163608022010-02-22T16:43:00.000-08:002010-02-22T16:59:29.853-08:00SSHP19 - Doing the Mess Around<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcBichOJPuV2mNTlX7M4cq7iG1RCNCKzksXuBk46Jl1VkIHGjLnyk-OP2jW-uJdaxqRvmw35zZIaWXaqJUvuDt9wfzm275YBxZgvhCwLADRjNwSne6nUFqZM3nX7M4BCicmnw0p-eMgQ8/s1600-h/102_3116.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 288px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5441235850327038162" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcBichOJPuV2mNTlX7M4cq7iG1RCNCKzksXuBk46Jl1VkIHGjLnyk-OP2jW-uJdaxqRvmw35zZIaWXaqJUvuDt9wfzm275YBxZgvhCwLADRjNwSne6nUFqZM3nX7M4BCicmnw0p-eMgQ8/s320/102_3116.JPG" /></a> This week the <a href="http://saturdayspotlight.blogspot.com/">Saturday Spotlight Challenge </a>is "Doing the Mess Around". This time the victims....I mean recipients were the ladies at club. I saw these simple little favors on Marie Shaughnessy's blog - sorry, I couldn't find her version or I would have linked it. They are made using a 3 1/4" X 11" piece of card stock. I scored them at 1" and 6". The backs are plain and the fronts are decorated with whatever scraps (you know how I love to use up scraps) or color scheme you need. I used one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches on the flap -man, does that dress it up - and the stamp is one I came across in a dollar bin at either Michael's or Joanne. I kept the pouches closed with a small piece of <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Velcro</span>. I gave Kit Kat's, but I know that Marie used little Hershey bars in hers. Pretty much anything would work. This year I made these cute little 3" X 3" cards. I got my inspiration from <a href="http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/">Kristina Werner's </a>blog. Wow, does that gal have some great ideas and some awesome tutorial videos. Be sure to check her out if you haven't already. The stamps I used are free digi's - if I remember correctly both are from <a href="http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.com/">Create with TLC<br /></a><div>My son just bought an electric guitar and is totally into learning how to play, so when I came across this freebie, there was no doubt what was going to be on his card. I also used one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches on the border. Love them! </div><div> </div><div>Hey, I just realized that I didn't use a nestie or a embossing folder on either of these cards. That has to be a first in a long time. They are never far out of reach when I'm playing. </div><div> </div><div>I used Kraft paper for the base of both cards, but the rest of my supplies were scraps. I save every last crumb of paper, ribbon, whatever, so it's always a blast for me when I use something up. : )</div><div> </div><div>More soon!</div><div>Joy</div><div> </div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-66030869693576225102010-02-15T16:11:00.000-08:002010-02-15T17:02:27.681-08:00valentines<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv8mx4QW8mFFIKe5qKra4vw1ve4mi8hM_qmE8AgyTrf2jpfMcjLEQSGguzqlNZ5DcRplKSF_IUk3ZsyCYpukcB80OLv_ntz8uLzeYF6t-D15az2LeePNonO62oaFujN-iXXcU4Qt6-JlE/s1600-h/102_3104.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 323px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 248px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438630051640644930" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv8mx4QW8mFFIKe5qKra4vw1ve4mi8hM_qmE8AgyTrf2jpfMcjLEQSGguzqlNZ5DcRplKSF_IUk3ZsyCYpukcB80OLv_ntz8uLzeYF6t-D15az2LeePNonO62oaFujN-iXXcU4Qt6-JlE/s400/102_3104.JPG" /></a> Finally catching up on my valentine projects. I made these little treat boxes for the ladies that I work with. Such a cute idea - I just had to make a bunch. <br /><br /></div><div></div><br /><br /><div>I love doing these little projects like this.<br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUsj8XzHKCD9q0usen33ULRHK4nWtMxkMDHyaCSf50GNVbOU86aaCHTsighOZEyJO_NuMXqHxUt-kH3cfT5Lbr1xRSM3Bqxps2DDNUpYXOZZRVfFxExYyMmhmlu79abwcHWmDhEv_WI8E/s1600-h/102_3105.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5438636396569920642" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUsj8XzHKCD9q0usen33ULRHK4nWtMxkMDHyaCSf50GNVbOU86aaCHTsighOZEyJO_NuMXqHxUt-kH3cfT5Lbr1xRSM3Bqxps2DDNUpYXOZZRVfFxExYyMmhmlu79abwcHWmDhEv_WI8E/s320/102_3105.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div> </div><div> </div><div>This what it looks like on the inside. Unfortunately, the Daytona 500 had a very long delay today (fixing the track). So rather than doing more homework, I took a break and worked on some cards. These were done with some stampin' up stamps and punch I got recently but hadn't had a chance to use. And of course my beloved deckled rectangle nesties. <div><br /><div>Enjoy - I have to get back to the race. :-)<div><br /></div><div>pk</div></div></div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-21760402880546905192010-01-24T14:38:00.000-08:002010-01-24T14:44:39.041-08:00Long time no post...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjblDJnTgzpLSutdYIm2Q1L_JVOkelOGuzKOwa1l5ok7-7KwOAvHa4b2qykTXX3HQx8ZEiYk8OvjoBLeKH5Zs_vq4RNdKI91ZmghccsNU25qoOfGjDnN6fZxvfA2EJ1DfTACIOzfPJtiM/s1600-h/New+Paper.JPG"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjblDJnTgzpLSutdYIm2Q1L_JVOkelOGuzKOwa1l5ok7-7KwOAvHa4b2qykTXX3HQx8ZEiYk8OvjoBLeKH5Zs_vq4RNdKI91ZmghccsNU25qoOfGjDnN6fZxvfA2EJ1DfTACIOzfPJtiM/s320/New+Paper.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5430440333945809346" /></a><br />Yes, I've been neglecting my stamping again - thanks Joy for taking up the slack! I did make a few new cards this week. I don't know about you, but sometimes it just takes something new to inspire you and get the creative juices flowing again. In my case it was a new stack of paper - K and Company (from Hobby Lobby - on sale of course). I think it was the bright colors and patterns that drew me to it - I have a bad case of cabin fever and I want it to be spring. The flower stamp is one I got from my niece April and it reminds me of Mary Engelbreit's patterns (love her stuff!). The owl stamp... well I still like the owls. <div><br /></div><div>Enjoy - I'll try to post more often.</div><div>pk</div>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8641045846379524179.post-74149798762443795742010-01-09T16:11:00.000-08:002010-01-09T16:47:28.198-08:00Bugaboo Stamps Digital Image ChallengeEvening Everyone,<br /><br /><div><div>Over the last few weeks I have found digital stamps. For those of you who have used digital images before, you probably saying "where has she been?" but for those of you who are like me and didn't even realize these are out there, they are pretty cool. They are just as fun as a traditional stamp image. You download the image, print it on your regular computar printer and color it in just like you would any other stamped image. </div><br /><div>Anyway, I came across a cool digi stamp company called Bugaboo Stamps found <a href="http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/">here </a></div><div>Right now, they have a free digital image. Not only is it a free image, but if you use that free image and post it to their blog by Sunday night (1/10), you get your choice of another digital image from their company. Not just to one winner but anyone who submits an entry. That is my understanding of their offer. Check it out and see if you see the same thing as me.</div><br />Here is my card<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424901047576232066" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij-rk3dYVHjTrI3JAooPgVTgiK4fGEqXnDO1UIDcmu6SUYoexxiH4opelJXQkUUe-OZQcj2uxG_dsOjxpzHihMYBoxzmi4C-5pCW5gecBtCH7j2M0JQy7qkjhH_7liprzrWZQrlNmVA4k/s320/102_3088.JPG" /><br /><div>What is fun about this card is that I was able to use one my pre-made cards from Heidi Grace. As a card maker, we all have sets of these cute, great quality pre-made cards (some of us have more than others, right PK & Filly? I personally have about every color ever made), but they have that window in the middle. What do you do with them if you don't need that window?</div></div><br /><div></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 137px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424902050061290450" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlkMcs1yZ6P64dFpMiUgub0Tw5KHBy1Pxk87PVsCH2kq5DlAs0KTQ9qrIpL0WDDymwwanABZT03BNX68Z1jUvPzznF9Za5zwPWpzuf-dGAPQGwpPiQDO7lKFq3Yk6OQN6d5Cybv8orFfw/s200/102_3092.JPG" /><br /><p>I covered mine up completely. I even lined the inside of my card to cover all the inner workings. You can't even tell this has a window in it. Pretty cool, huh? </p><p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 170px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424902910108225058" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFcBUxL80mnHu7ms9ec4FCod3RJY2faDjvVPG9LGVG48QHvn0kA1cyFZXBxbsFu4T4jDHK33fESBVe0ktoceGcemGpx_VwfWMcuVdc3zpiPwDXNAk_1CU2VmTqjuYSdwJ8zpjOxpOWIQI/s200/102_3090.JPG" /></p><p>As usual, I colored this image in with my copic markers - love those things, I used one of my Martha Stewart border punches, and I never do a project without at least one nestie. The sentiment is from one of my $1.00.</p><p>That's it for tonight. Time to get back to playing.</p><p>Joy</p><p>P.S. Did you notice I set up a link instead of just inserting a web address. Whoo hooo! Gold star for me tonight. Now, let's just hope it works right. </p>Pk Filly & Joyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13489770326412796703noreply@blogger.com2
